María Lisa Johnson

María Lisa is a seasoned Latina consultant with over 30 years of experience serving and consulting with Oregon nonprofits and public entities. She offers organizational development services to enhance strategic capacity and create inclusive, transformative workplaces. Her approach is shaped by the participatory and social justice principles of popular education. Prior to joining Capacity Building Partnerships, María Lisa served the Multnomah County Health Department as Organizational Development Director. She was the Consulting Director at the Nonprofit Association of Oregon, the Director of the City of Portland’s Office of Human Relations and Human Rights, and the Founding Executive Director for Latino Network. María Lisa holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in International Relations from Florida State University, and Master of Arts degrees in International Studies and Public Administration from the University of Oregon.
